Surfachem is looking for an outstanding communicator to join our marketing team in Leeds. Responsibilities will include proactively managing promotional communications and developing marketing strategies.

As a chemical distributor Surfachem, a member of the 2M Group of companies, markets a range of chemical ingredients. These ingredients are the building blocks of hundreds of everyday consumables including cosmetics, beauty products, pharmaceuticals and cleaning solutions.

Our customers include Lush, The Body Shop, Boots, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Neal’s Yard and Molton Brown. To these customers Surfachem provide knowledge and support by adding opportunities and security to the entire supply chain.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement structured external communications plans for each of Surfachem’s geographic territories.
  • Utilise proactive communications to create opportunities for revenue generation.
  • Support the growth and awareness of the Surfachem brand.
  • Continuously develop in-house communication and design capabilities.
  • Support a marketing orientation through internal communications.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to improve intercompany communications.

Skills Required

  • Outstanding communicator.
  • Excellent written English.
  • Second languages desirable; ideally Polish, German, French or Portuguese.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Forward thinker who can identify opportunities for business improvement.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • The ability to manage responsibilities and work autonomously.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Degree educated in Marketing or Life Sciences with Marketing / Business modules.

Desirable

  • Knowledge or a keen interest in the cosmetics, beauty, pharmaceuticals, home care and cleaning industries.
  • Experience with graphic design software e.g Adobe CC.
  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualification.
  • Website administration and development, ideally Wordpress.
